Players like J.B. Holmes, Sean O'Hair, and Ryuji Imada continue their strong play and make their presence known among the game's best.

At this point, most anything written about Tiger Woods’ play this year sounds cliched; dominating, tremendous, fantastic, pure. With Sunday’s win at Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Classic, notch up another, historic. Woods has now tied the Hawk, Ben Hogan, in wins with 64. Sometimes it is sad to see the accomplishments of the almost mythic figures of the game’s past go down to Tiger, or anyone else. But, in Tiger Woods, we are fortunate to be watching the best player every to have set foot on a course. He may set records that future generations cannot touch. Every generation says that about it’s own stars, but Tiger, unless he decides to stop short, has much further to go.

There are a few younger players making waves at this early point in the season who have the ability to make a name for themselves this year. J.B. Holmes and Sean O’Hair are already winners this year, and, along with Ryuji Imada, occupy positions in the Fedex Cup standings top-10, and only Imada, sitting at #11, is out of the top-10 money leader rankings. All three can add some new lift to the make-up of the American Ryder Cup team. Again, it’s a long way to Valhalla, though.

Senior Tour player Bart Bryant made the biggest leap this week, jumping from mid-70 rankings in both the Fedex Cup and Money List rankings. He sits at 17th in Fedex Cup points and 18th on the Money List.
