Old Channel Trail Golf CourseA 27 Hole Golf And Training Facility In Montague, Michigan
Old Channel Trail offers something for every golfer. There are three nine hole courses to choose from, views of Lake Michigan and a state of the art training facility.
Old Channel Trail is a must play course when visiting Western Michigan. Built on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan, this 27 hole course offers something for golfers of every skill level and course design preference. The Valley Course - The Newest Course At Old Channel TrailBeing the newest of the courses, the Valley is a favorite for those who enjoy a less traditional course. The Valley is surrounded by various hazards including wildflowers, pine trees and a ravine that challenges even the most skilled golfer. It's winding fairways are more narrow than normal, and there are four tees from which to play. The Valley is a par 36 course with a distance of 3,383 yards from the longest tee. The Meadow Course - The Simplest Course At Old Channel TrailBuilt in the 1960's, this course opened about 30 years before the Valley, and almost 70 years after the Woods (the eldest of the courses). It is the best choice for beginning golfers as there are wide fairways and very few hazards. The Meadow is a par 36 course with a distance of 3,332 yards from the longest tee. The Woods Course - The Oldest Course At Old Channel TrailThe Woods is a must play for golf traditionalist. The almost eighty year old course features grass mounds/bunkers (instead of sand bunkers), narrow fairways and a view of Lake Michigan from the 9th hole. Walkers frequent this course and some golfers dress in vintage golf clothing like knickers and matching argyle socks. The Woods is a par 36 course with a distance of 3,222 yards from the farthest tee. In 2004 Old Channel Trail was recognized by Golf Digest as one of the "Best Places to Play". Another great feature about Old Channel is it's training facility. In addition to the driving range, practice bunker, putting and chipping range, the facility offers a three hole practice course. The practice course can be played in less than 45 minutes allowing one to practice on a lunch hour or when there is not enough time for a full round. Old Channel Trail is located in Montague, Michigan a little over an hour north of Grand Rapids. Guests can play 9 holes for $19.50 with cart, or 18 holes for $37 with cart. Rates are slightly higher on the weekends. Old Channel Trail opens in early April and closes in early November.
