For years, Mizuno has been a leader in the forged golf iron market. Their newest iron set promises to continue delivering the same high quality and performance.

Low-handicap golfers, and those golfers who love the pure, traditional look of forged irons, love when Mizuno introduces a new set of irons. Based upon the look of Mizuno’s new Grain Flow Forged MP-62 Irons, no one will be disappointed.

Innovation in Design

It would seem that the nature of forged golf irons would limit the amount of technological advances. Mizuno claims to have made a breakthrough in the MP-62s with what they call Dual Muscle Technology. According to the company, "Comprising Dual Muscle Technology is an outer muscle pad which allows for a precisely placed center of gravity, offering enhanced workability and an ideal ball flight, and an inner muscle pad which provides the unparalleled feel and feedback that better players demand." That, combined with their patented Grain Flow Forging will, according to Mizuno, result in the MP-62s being irons that deliver unmatched workability, feel and are the "ultimate scoring weapons."

The clubs also feature modified U-grooves that produce the ideal spin rate for maximum playability in all conditions, and a double-nickel chrome plated finish for the preferred forged look. A rolled leading edge, aggressively cambered mid-sole, and rolled trailing edge combine to deliver consistent striking ability from all types of lies.

Players will be able to find the Mizuno MP-62 irons in only the right hand model, True Temper Dynamic Gold S300 and R300 shafts (MSRP $1,100), and Project X 5.5 shafts (MSRP $1,200).

Mizuno MP Loyalists To Be "Blown Away"

Considering the longstanding record of delivering on their promises may make words from Mizuno company officials more believable than some other companies and industries. "Mizuno has long been known for the precision, accuracy, and feel that our MP game enhancement line delivers for the better player," said Dick Lyons, Vice President and General Manager, Mizuno USA Golf Division. "Innovative Dual Muscle Technology now takes workability and ball control to a level never before seen, and even longtime MP loyalists are going to be blown away by the performance and enhanced feel of these new MP-62 irons."

With the level of competition from Nike, Titleist, and other top manufacturers of forged irons, it will be tough for the new Mizuno irons to blow people away based upon their performance. However, there’s room for it to be done.

Proof of Performance to Show-Up Soon

The MP-62 irons were set to ship in September, so it won’t be long before feedback starts coming in. With the high quality products Mizuno has given golfers, and the trust they have built, let’s all hope these new irons deliver.
