A close look on Sundays will prove Fidra is the choice of several pro golfers. Based on Suite 101 Golf's testing results, this golf clothing will soon be seen everywhere.

In 2006, Fidra Golf moved from being under the influence of Quicksilver, Inc, a clothing manufacturing and distribution company, to become the apparel division of Cleveland Golf. For Fidra, it was a fantastic move. Since that time, it has become the clothing of choice of such golfers as Boo Weekley, Jerry Kelly, Bob Estes, Joe Durant and others, fifteen in all.

Under head designer Claudia Schwarz, herself a product of The Netherlands' Gerrit Rietveld Art and Design Academy, Fidra Golf has produced a line of golf clothing that has performance at the forefront, without sacrificing its fashion sense. In Fidra, Suite 101 Golf found a premier line of golf apparel that meets all functional, asthetic and price needs.

Clothing Tested

Function and Feel

The two most important areas, by Suite 101 Golf standards. The Leader shirt proved to be a star performer. Over several weeks of on- and off-course wear, the shirt, which features a moisture wicking, antibacterial, 100% polyester material, did just what Ms. Schwarz designed it to do. The shirt didn't commit the sin of restricting the swing, even during the hottest, stickiest weather. The Leader shirt material "wicked away" as designed. Regarding feel, it was quite comfortable during both hot and cool temperatures, displaying exceptional breathability.

The golf pants fared just as well. The lightweight cotton and polyester blend is just what the golfer orders. The pants were not at all restrictive during competition and were more comfortable than most brands of golf pants. Function and Feel Rating: 10 out of 10

Quality/Durability

As mentioned above, the golf shirt and pants were worn over several weeks. During those weeks they were subjected to multiple cycles of washing and drying according to Fidra recommendations for care. Both the golf polo and pants continue to look as they did coming out of the package. After the first couple of cycles, the collar of the shirt began to turn upward at the corners, but buttoning the top button and placing the shirt on a hanger after the wash rectified the problem. Quality Rating: 10

Style

A look at Fidra's website will provide a good look at their complete line of clothing and prove that they are also on the cutting edge of style. The have a great blend of contemporary and conventional styles that fit the needs of any golfer. The only thing they are lacking are more available vibrant colors.Though not a must-have for Suite 101 reviewers, lots of people like a wide range of colors. Style Rating: 9.8

Price and Availability

Although the company says Fidra Golf clothing is available everywhere, it was tough to find a full selection. Suite 101 Golf was able to locate up-to-date clothing at some larger golf club pro shops and popular online retailers. Most shirts, pants and shorts can be purchased in the $50 to $70 range. Price and Availability Rating: 9.8

Suite 101 Golf Rating: Ballplayers have to perform well or be traded. The same goes for golf equipment and golf clothing. Fidra Golf surpasses most other brands of golf clothing because of the durability and functional aspects of their offerings. Simply put, clothing that holds up as well as these were thought to be extinct. On the course they were found to be on par with the best. Suite 101 Golf recommends giving Fidra Golf clothing a try. You'll likely come back again and again.

Overall Rating: 9.9
