Looking to play like the pros? Brigadoon Golf Club in West Michigan might be just the right course. Designed similar to that of the renowned Treetop Resorts in Northern Michigan, the course is set in its original habitat with extreme challenges such as elevated tees, creeks, narrow fairways, rolling hills, blind holes and an abundance of trees and high grass.

This 27 hole course offers three tee boxes to accommodate different skill levels. The red (or ladies) tee gives a great advantage to new (or female) players (as much as 100 yards); nonetheless, a true beginner will find it nearly impossible to complete a round on any of the three courses.

Tips for Playing Brigadoon Golf Club

When playing this course, consider some of the following tips for a more successful and enjoyable round.

  1. Around the community Brigadoon is known as "Bring a Dozen". This course offers a number of hazards, many that provide no hope of being able to find a lost ball. Consequently, it is important to pack several balls, especially if playing from the blue (or farthest) tee box.
  2. Over hitting the greens on this course can be very costly. In many cases, over hitting the greens means a ball that ends up in a creek or over a cliff thus resulting in a penalty. Consequently, it is wisest to play conservatively when approaching the greens.
  3. Be sure to study the course chart prior to each drive as there are several blind holes and fairways. Additionally, several holes sharply dogleg to either the right or the left.
  4. Par 3 holes are some of the most difficult on this course. They offer extreme short distances, dramatically elevated tees and numerous hazards around the greens.
  5. Challenges on this course are not as a result of long distances but various hazards within close proximity of one another. Consequently, depending upon a golfer's game, it might be wise to replace the driver with a 3 or even a 5-wood. A hybrid or two will also be handy on this course.
  6. Keep a positive attitude. With so many hazards one can easily find themselves flustered and frustrated.
  7. Drive carts slowly as there are many hills and bumps throughout the property.
